Frances Teresa (Myer) Eichler, 85, of East Hartford, passed from this life on Monday, April 21, 2014.
She was the daughter of the late John Myer and Eleanor (Field) Myer, and spent her childhood years in Windsor Locks. She was a 1949 graduate of the St. Mary's School of Nursing in Waterbury. She was employed, and immensely enjoyed her work, for 26 years as a school nurse in the East Hartford Public School System, retiring in 1991.
Frances was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Jack F. Eichler. They made their home and raised their family in East Hartford. She is survived by her two sons, Stephen Eichler of Hebron, and John Eichler, and his wife, Jackie-Lyn, of Manchester. She was predeceased by her son, Robert Eichler, formerly of East Hartford. Frances is also survived by, and will be dearly missed by, her eight grandchildren, Kelley, and her husband, Trent, Erin, and her husband, Geoffrey, Erik, Brianne, Stephanie, Sara, Jillian, and Kevin; her five great-grandchildren, Brennan, Lilah, Landon, Emerson, and Brady; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 25, at 9 a.m. from the D'esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford, with a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Rose Church, 33 Church St., East Hartford. Burial will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery (section H), 1312 Silver Lane, East Hartford.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Thursday, April 24, from 4 to 7 p.m.
