Hannelore E. "Omi" King, 81, of the Broad Brook section of East Windsor entered into eternal peace Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at her home.
The daughter of the late Paul and Maria (Feistner) Romer, Hannelore was born in Germany and had lived in Broad Brook with her daughter for 16 years, and prior had lived in Enfield for many years. Hannelore was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and friend who inspired all who knew her with determination, courage, and resiliency, especially while facing medical issues in her later years. In addition to her commitment to her family, Hannelore enjoyed utilizing her tremendous artistic and creative talents in photography, ceramics, and gardening.
She is survived by two sons, Kirk King and Paula Formeister of East Hartford, Stuart King and his wife, Maria, of Ellington; a daughter, Donna Mancuso and her husband, Ray, of Broad Brook; seven grandchildren, Amber, Michelle, Lindsay, Samantha, Karli, Michael, and Amanda; a brother, Werner Romer and his wife, Anni, of Germany; two sisters, Ursula Dietz and her husband, Hans, of Germany and Renate Ryan and her husband, Bob, of Fort Myers, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you is extended to ITN and its wonderful caring volunteers, the Enfield Dialysis Center, Companions and Homemakers, Masonicare, East Windsor Ambulance Association, and East Windsor Police Department.
A funeral service will be held at noon Monday, July 15, 2013, at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, with one hour of visitation prior to the service from 11 a.m. to noon. Burial will follow at Hazardville Cemetery.
