Helen Mary (Silvia) Lee, 77, a resident of Enfield for most of her life, formerly of Portsmouth, R.I., died early Saturday afternoon, Dec. 22, 2012, at Hartford Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Francisco and Mary (Fragoza) Silvia. Helen was employed for over 25 years in the fabric department at the former Ames Department Store located in Enfield until its closing. Some of Helen's favorite pastimes included sewing, crocheting, knitting, and solving crossword puzzles. She also was actively involved with the Enfield P.T.A. when her children were younger.
Helen is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, William F. Lee, Sr.; and leaves four loving children, William F. Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Stafford Springs, Christopher K. and his wife, Nancy, and Steven S. Lee, both of Enfield, and Peggy A. Howard and her husband, Timothy, of Glastonbury; two brothers, Antonio Silvia and Frank Silvia and his wife, Gail, both of Portsmouth, R.I.; as well as eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday evening, Dec. 27, at 6 p.m. at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday at the funeral home from 4 to 6 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of Helen's family.
