Howard Pease Spencer, 93, of Melrose, husband for 56 years to the late Priscilla (Turner) Spencer, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014.
Howard was born April 1, 1920, in the Melrose section of East Windsor, the son of the late Howard Tracy Spencer and Justina Mae Pease. In 1986, Howard retired from Northeast Utilities after 22 years of service.
Howard is survived by his children, Robbin Blais, and her husband, Paul, and Jason Spencer, and his wife, Linda; and his grandchildren, Amanda and Zachary. Howard was predeceased by two brothers, Norman and Gerald.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 30, at 11 a.m. at the Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner St., East Windsor. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m.
