James J. Lavoie

James J. Lavoie, 69, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Hartford Hospital.

He was born June 9, 1944, in Caswell, Maine, to the late George and Emma (Michaud) Lavoie. A resident of the Hartford area for many years, Jim ran Lavoie Trucking along with his brothers. He was an avid NASCAR fan but most especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, James Lavoie, and his wife, Jennifer, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Jennifer Lavoie of Enfield, Kimberly Lavoie of Windsor Locks; his brother, Joseph Lavoie of Windsor; and his four beloved grandchildren, Corey, Daequan, Andre, and Liam; as well as cousins, nephews, and nieces.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, May 10, at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard's Terrace, Vernon. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.
