James R. Blatt

James R. Blatt died peacefully at home in East Windsor on Jan. 31, 2013.

He was born Dec. 31, 1935, to James N. Blatt and Violet O. (Boff) Blatt in Utica, N.Y. He was their first child. Jim is predeceased by his parents and both his brothers, Alan of Casanovia, N.Y., and Gerold of Newington.

Jim moved with his family to Newington in the '50s. He worked for Dunn and Bush for several years before being hired by Norm Hall, the founder of New England Mechanical Services of Vernon. He was the third person hired by Norm for this growing business. He started as a service technician and worked his way up to operations manager. He took great pride in the company and all the technicians he hired over the years. Jim retired in August 2003. His technicians will remember his "round-to-it" that he made for one of the Friday morning meetings.

He is survived by his loving companion of 20 years, Louise Krajewski of East Windsor; and her daughters, Michelle Sabin of Otisfield, Maine, Heidi Krajewski of Broad Brook; and her granddaughter, Nicole Sabin of Broad Brook.
