Jane (Grant) Martin, of Naples, Florida, formally of The Villages, Florida, Windsor, and Cape Cod, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2014.
Born April 10, 1938, in Kansas City, Missouri, to David N. and Maxine Charlotte Grove Hall, Jane graduated from Southwest High School in Kansas City, attended William Woods College and the University of Missouri, and received her master's degree from Portland State University. While at the University of Missouri, Jane met John Grant, her husband of more than 35 years. Jane enjoyed a long career as a teacher and school librarian and was a devoted wife and mother. She was an avid reader and active member of any community she was a part of. Jane was especially proud of her three grandchildren, Alexandra, Rebecca, and David Grant, of Petaluma, California.
She is predeceased by her parents, first husband, and her second husband, Phil Martin. She is survived by her son, Joseph Grant (Amy) of Petaluma; her grandchildren; sister, Kathy Johnson (Brian) of Naples and Colorado; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carl and Dorothy Grant Schulz of New Richmond, Ohio; nieces, Debbie Rudman, Janet Everhard, and Carol Neumann; and nephew, Greg Johnson.
A memorial will be held in late July in Windsor.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to
to support the fundraising efforts to pay the medical expenses of Jane's great-nephew, Raphael Grant Flath-Everhard.
