John Jablonski

John Jablonski, 86, of South Windsor, beloved husband of Barbara (Morris) Jablonski, died peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at Rockville General Hospital.

He was born on April 13, 1927, in Hartford, son of the late Sylvester and Catherine (Smigel) Jablonski. John was the owner and operator of Johnnie's Auto in South Windsor for many years. He was also an enthusiastic fan of NASCAR racing who attended many of their races. John served our country with the U.S. Army during World War II.

He will be greatly missed by the love of his life, Barbara; his nephew and caretaker, George Panella, and his wife, Louise; his sister-in-law, Marsha Jackie, and her husband, Richard Benenti; his brother-in-law, Eugene Morris, and his wife, Arlene, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters and brothers, Mary Panella, Jennie Boyd, Ella Jablonski, Walter Jablonski, and Edward Jablonski.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at 12:30 p.m. at the Wapping Cemetery, Oakland Road, South Windsor. There are no calling hours.
