Joseph Chominczak Sr., 89, of Enfield, beloved husband of the late Rita (Brien) Chominczak, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Meadowbrook of Granby.
Joseph was born March 3, 1925, in Polania, Poland, the son of the late Nicholas and Ann Chominczak and immigrated to the United States and has been a resident of Enfield since 1952. He retired in 1988 after 36 years as a machinist with the former Bridge Manufacturing Co. in Hazardville. Joseph was a communicant of St. Bernard Church, a member of the Enfield Senior Citizens, the Enfield Golden Age Club, and AARP Chapter 3062.
Joseph is survived by a son, Joseph P. Chominczak Jr., of Barkhamsted; and his granddaughter, Emily Ann Chominczak.
Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during a visiting hour on Thursday, March 27, 2014, from 10 to 11 a.m. with a funeral procession gathering at 11 a.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, for a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at St. Bernard Church. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.
