Kevin R. Sharp

Kevin R. Sharp, 55, of Vernon, died Wednesday Nov. 7, 2012, at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Susan LeClair Sharp.

Born in Biloxi, Miss., May 13, 1957, a son of the late Robert and Arline Payette Sharp, he had lived in Brooklyn, Conn., before moving to Vernon in 1998. He was a graduate of Boston College and had been employed in sales to retail stores for several years. He was active in volunteer work and cat rescue and had served as treasurer of the Friends of Vernon Arts, past president of the Vernon Design Review Committee, and past president of the North East Division of Habitat for Humanity.

Besides his wife, Susan, he is survived by his sister, Jennifer Sharp Wine, and her husband, Robert, of Apex, N.C.; his brother, Bradford Sharp of San Raphael, Calif.; his mother-in-law, Janet LeClair of Wallingford; and many nieces and nephews.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from The Wallingford Funeral Home when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery.
