Kittie (Lytle) Cataldo

Kittie (Lytle) Cataldo, 88, of Manchester, beloved wife of the late Dominick V. Cataldo, died peacefully Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at an area convalescent home.

Kittie was born March 18, 1925, in Muskogee, Okla., daughter of the late Philip Mitchell Lytle and Mable Almedia (Banks) Lytle. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Central High School in Muskogee. She had lived in Manchester for over 60 years and was a longtime, faithful, and active member of St. Bridget Church in Manchester. After losing her husband, and before her declining years, she volunteered a great deal of time at the church, where she was proud to be a Eucharistic minister. She also assisted in counting collections and many other duties. Kittie was a volunteer at the gift shop at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Kittie enjoyed square dancing, bridge, and golfing with her husband and friends. She was a very accomplished crafter in the arts of sewing, knitting, needlework, and stained glass and had created beautiful handmade items and gifts.

Mrs. Cataldo is survived by her son, Philip J. Cataldo of Canton, Ga.; her daughter, Virginia M. Cataldo of Palm Coast, Fla.; her sister, Kathryn (Lytle) Smith McLaughlin of Union City, Tenn.; and her aunt, Frances (Banks) Harris of Broken Arrow, Okla.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Bridget Church, 80 Main St., Manchester. Burial will be in the East Cemetery.

There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a , bearing in mind that Kittie loved babies and children.
