Mary Agnes (Stewart) Surriner

Mary Agnes (Stewart) Surriner, 90, was welcomed into her heavenly father's arms on Oct. 30, 2012.

Born on April 18, 1922, and raised in Enfield, where she graduated from Enfield High School. She was the loving daughter of the late Walter and Agnes (Guz) Stewart, and the loving wife of the late George W. Surriner. Mary was employed by the Enfield U.S. Post Office, retiring in 1995, and was a communicant of St. Adalbert Church.

Mary leaves behind her loving daughter, Stasia Sas of Enfield; daughter-in-law, Marcia Surriner of Broad Brook; five grandchildren, Christine Sas Orefice, and her husband, Anthony, Lynn Grismala, and her husband, Roger, MaryAnne Sas, Robert Sas Jr., Jason Surriner, and his wife, Stefanie; 10 great-grandchildren, Kasey, Sam, Jackie, Nick Orefice, Ryan, David, Alex, and Adam Grismala, Taylor Sas, and Chezney Surriner, and one great-great-grandchild, Roman Schiessl; and most of all her cats, Blackie and Runtie. Mary was predeceased by her sons, Stanley, Eugene, and Paul Surriner; daughter, Agnes Surriner; son-in-law, Robert Sas Sr.; granddaughter, Lisa Surriner; and brother, Stanley Stewart.

Visitation hours will be on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield.

A funeral procession will gather by 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Martha Church, 214 Brainard Road, Enfield. Burial will be held in St. Adalbert's Cemetery, Enfield.
