Maryann C. (Kazarda) Wadenklee, of Suffield, entered into eternal rest at the age of 69, on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield. Maryann was the beloved wife of 48 years to the late John C. Wadenklee and daughter of the late Andrew J. and Jennie T. (Kovalski) Kazarda.
She was born on Nov. 29, 1943, in Keasbey, N.J., and had resided in Suffield for the past 35 years and in New Jersey before that. Maryann was employed for many years with the Suffield Board of Education as a cafeteria manager and prior to that with First National Supermarkets as a benefits coordinator. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Suffield, and a former co-leader of Girl Scout Troop 10960 in Suffield. Maryann's primary goal in life was caring for her family and home. She also enjoyed cooking, shopping, traveling, visiting with friends, but most of all spoiling her grandchildren.
She is survived by her four loving children, Lynn Butler and husband, Roger Jr., of Somers, Stacy Fisher and husband, Craig, of Stafford Springs, Susan Adams of Suffield, and Scott Wadenklee and wife, Katie, of Meriden; her seven beloved grandchildren, Tara and Brian Butler, Andrew and Melissa Fisher, Ross and Emily Adams, and Maggie Wadenklee; a sister, Jeanette Zaremski of Pennsylvania, a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Matilda Kazarda of Pennsylvania, and a sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Leo Hofmann of New Jersey; along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, from 2 to 4 p.m. followed by a memorial and remembrance service with the Rev. James Kerner officiating at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
