Phyllis (Woolley) Karlson

Phyllis (Woolley) Karlson, 90, of Manchester, beloved wife of the late Robert A. Karlson, passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Manchester Memorial Hospital with her family at her side.

Phyllis was born July 12, 1922, in Bridgton, Maine, daughter of the late Thomas R. and Marjorie (Davis) Woolley. She had resided in Manchester for most of her life and prior to retiring, worked as a cafeteria cashier at Manchester Memorial Hospital. She was a member for several years of Wit & Wisdom Poetry Club of Manchester, was an avid reader and loved old movies. She loved her country and always displayed the American flag; she was very proud to be an American.

Mrs. Karlson is survived by a son, John Paquette of Manchester; six grandchildren, Yvette Knapp, Lauri Ward, Ryan Paquette, Jesse Paquette, Ashley Paquette, and Emily Paquette; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Phyllis also leaves four caregivers, Seongyi Diana, Beth Phelps, Reggie Jones, and Barbara Howe. In addition to her husband and parents, Phyllis was predeceased by two sons, Peter Paquette and Matthew Paquette; a daughter, MaryJane Paquette; and a sister and a brother.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 28, at 11 a.m. at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. Burial will follow in Marlborough Cemetery, Marlborough. Family and friends may call Wednesday, Feb. 27, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
