Raymond A. Ermellini, 81, lifelong resident of Windsor Locks, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at home.
Ray was born Jan. 9, 1933, the son of the late Ernesto and Pierina (Santamaria) Ermellini. Ray received his bachelor's from the University of Connecticut and retired from Pratt & Whitney after 39 years where he worked in graphic design. He enjoyed sports especially rooting for the Boston Red Sox or the New York Giants and playing a round of golf. Ray was a parishioner of St. Mary Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Riverside Council 26.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda Ermellini, and her husband, Andrew Phillip, of Pompano Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren, Shannon Ermellini Morgan, and her husband, Jesse Morgan, Alicia Cianfarani Estrada, and her husband, Kenny Estrada, and Erica Cianfarani; great-grandson, Ledger Morgan, and his sister, Olga King, all of Windsor Locks; close friends, Ronald Cianfarani, and his wife, Kathy, of Windsor Locks; his friends at the Knights of Columbus and the Shamrock. Ray was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Janice Sullivan, who passed away a year and a half ago; and a daughter, Jill Ann Ermellini.
Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Monday, March 10, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at 9 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 am at St. Mary Church, 42 Spring St., Windsor Locks. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
