Robert A. Lupoletti, 83, of Enfield, beloved husband of Virginia M. (Basham) Lupoletti, for 63 years, died peacefully at his home Sunday, May 11, 2014.
Born in Queens, New York, he was a son of the late Dante and Grace (Leone) Lupoletti. He was raised in Brooklyn and had lived in New York for many years. Robert had been a resident of the Enfield community for 34 years where he owned and operated his business, Servpro, for just as many years. He was a former member of the Enfield Elks, Lodge 2222, and was an active member of the Elks of Chicopee, Massachusetts, Lodge 1849. He was the 2008-09 Elk of the year and was a Past Exalted Ruler, as well as serving on the bingo committee. Robert was an avid sports fan who was especially loyal to his favorite teams, the Boston Red Sox, and the UConn lady Huskies basketball team. Both he and Virginia were world travelers and visited many countries around the globe. They also enjoyed ballroom dancing together.
Besides his wife, Virginia, Robert is survived by two sons, Michael Lupoletti of Enfield, Roger Lupoletti, and his fiancée, Linda Kane, of West Hartford; two daughters, Deirdrea Garcia, and her husband, Gilbert, and Bonnie Paulhus, all of South Carolina; two brothers, including his twin, Richard Lupoletti, and his wife, Joy, of East Hampton, New York, and Albert Lupoletti, and his wife, Ann, of Morganton, North Carolina. He also leaves nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Diane Joyce Lupoletti.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, the 16th of May at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, 64 Pearl St., Enfield, followed by a reception at the Elks Lodge
in Chicopee, 431 Granby Road, Chicopee, Massachusetts. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
