Robert A. "Bob" Pedro

Robert A. "Bob" Pedro, 88, formerly of East Windsor, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014.

Bob was born in Coventry on Feb. 18, 1926, and was a longtime resident of East Windsor. He had been the owner and operator of Pedro's Restaurant, East Windsor. Later, prior to retirement, he worked at Metals Testing in South Windsor. Bob was a U.S. Marine veteran having served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion East Windsor Post and American Veterans Post of Willimantic.

Bob is survived by three sons, Robert A. Pedro Jr. of Manchester, Charles Pedro of Enfield, and Craig Pedro of Broad Brook; two daughters, Dawn C. Grant and Kathy Cunningham, both of Manchester; three daughters-in-law; two sons-in-law; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his wife, Grace Pedro; a stepson, Joseph Konopka; a brother, John Pedro; a sister, May Pedro; and his mother, Katherine Watson.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 23, at 10 a.m. at the Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner St., East Windsor, with Evangelist Paul Raynes. Burial will follow in Springdale Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 22, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
