Robert H. Grumbach

Robert H. Grumbach, 94, of Rockville, beloved husband of the late Marian (Wraight) Grumbach, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013.

He was born July 10, 1918, in Rockville, the son of the late Frank and Clara (Morin) Grumbach. He served in the United States Navy Seabees during World War II. He was a member of St. Luke Church, the Knights of Columbus, the carpenter's union since October 1936, and the American Legion.

He is survived by his daughters, Sister Joan Grumbach MMM of New York and Judith Schumacher, and her husband, Karl, of Vernon; his three grandchildren, Kristopher Schumacher, and his wife, Amy, Rebecca Cobb, and her husband, Chris, and Adam Schumacher, and his wife, Lisa; and five great-grandchildren, Carter, Lauren, Calvin, Cooper, and Ryan. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2013, at St. Luke Church, 141 Maple St., Ellington. Burial will follow at Ellington Center Cemetery in Ellington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Andrew Chi Research Fund, Pappas Center for Neuro-Oncology, Development Office, Massachusetts General Hospital, 165 Cambridge St., Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114; the Medical Missionaries of Mary, 4425 W. 63rd St., Suite 100, Chicago, IL 60629; or St. Luke Church, Ellington.
