Robert W. Clough, 83, of Willington, formerly of Tolland, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013.
He was born Feb. 21, 1930, in Hartford to the late Clarence and Aurora (Pellerin) Clough. Robert has served as a firefighter
in many capacities and for many years serving the Eagleville area as a young man, then in Tolland, lastly as an assistant fire chief. He proudly served in the U.S. military, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed skiing.
He is survived by his daughters; Pamela Abbott, and her husband, Steven, of Willington, Sheryl Carter-O'Brien of Squim, Wash.; his sister, Janice Zacharovitz, and her husband, Daniel; his sister-in-law, Beverly Clough; his brother-in-law, John Schena; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, and her husband, Todd, Matthew, Gregory, and his wife, Stacy, Michael and Ashley, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Joanne Clough, in 2003; his brother, Eugene Clough; his sister-in-law, Jean Schena; and his son-in-law, Donald O'Brien.
Relatives and friends may join the family for a memorial service on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at 1 p.m. at St. Matthew Church, Tolland Green, Tolland.
Memorial donations may be made in Robert's name to the Veterans Hospital, Attn: Volunteer Services, 555 Willard Ave, 3rd floor, Newington, CT 06111.
