Sandra (Rabbett) Hebert

Sandra (Rabbett) Hebert, 70, a lifelong resident of Windsor Locks and wife of the late Charles L. Hebert entered into eternal rest with her loving family by her side on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at Johnson Memorial Hospital.

She was born Dec. 22, 1942, in Hartford, the daughter of the late Mandell and Sally (Gifford) Rabbett. Sandra graduated from Windsor Locks High School and taught Sunday School as a teenager. She sold Avon and was employed with Fuller Brush then worked at Connecticut General Life Insurance Co., New England Bank, and for the Windsor Locks school system as a lunch aide and a school crossing guard. Sandra was later employed with the Town of Windsor Locks as the Republican registrar of voters for 35 years. Prior to getting ill, Sandra was employed for over 20 years with the Senior Center as the transportation coordinator. Her level of dedication to the town's voters and the town's seniors will never be replaced. Sandra volunteered for many years with the Multiple Sclerosis Society with its walk in Enfield. Sandra was the kindest, gentlest, caring person, and a true lady. She was a truly devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, friend, co-worker, a Republican, and she loved her town of Windsor Locks. Sandra enjoyed family vacations with her family to Maine, Canada, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Cape Cod. She enjoyed playing bingo and bowling. She played on the Guys and Dolls league with her son, Mark and daughter, Lisa. Sandra, a family-oriented person, enjoyed being with her family and always supported her children and granddaughter unconditionally. Holidays were always a very special time and had to be just perfect no matter how big or small the event was. Sandra was an avid New York Yankees fan and UConn Husky fan and enjoyed games at Gample and Yankee Stadium.

Sandra is survived by her two children, Mark C. Hebert, and his wife, Monique, of Enfield, and their daughter, Nicole A. Hebert of Windsor; Lisa A Schneider, and her husband, James, of Poquonock; two brothers-in-law, Joseph L.L Hebert, his wife, Sandra, of West Dudley, Thomas Hébert, and his wife, Margaret, of Willimantic; and nieces and nephews, and her granddogs, Moose and Snickers. Sandra also leaves many close friends. Sandra's family would like to thank all the staff at Parkway Pavilion of Enfield and Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford for their dedication to their Mom.
