Stanley J. Buczacki

Stanley J. Buczacki, 94, entered into eternal rest on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013.

Stanley was born on Aug. 28, 1918, in Philadelphia, Pa., son of the late Theodore and Nellie (Kurek) Buczacki. He was the beloved husband of 61 years to the late Irene (Shewchuk) Buczacki, whom he married on June 6, 1943, in Richmond, Va. He resided in Enfield for 60 years and the past couple of years at The Retreat in Hartford. He served his country honorably during World War II with the U.S. Army's 1884th Engineer Aviation Battalion in the Pacific theater and earned the rank of captain. Prior to his retirement in 1981, Stanley was employed for 35 years with New England Telephone & Telegraph Co. He was a sports enthusiast and fan of the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, New England Patriots, and UConn Huskies basketball.

Stanley is survived by his four children, Jeffrey Buczacki of Vienna, Va., Matthew Buczacki of Newington, Amy Chestnut of Las Vegas, Nev., and Jessica Daley of Warminster, Pa.; their spouses; and his six beloved grandchildren.

The family would like to acknowledge the fine and compassionate care Stanley received at The Retreat assisted living facility in Hartford, including the staff of Hebrew Health Care.

Funeral services for Stanley will be private at the convenience of his family.
