William Myron Holden, 58, of Manchester, formerly of East Hartford, entered eternal rest Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at his home.

He was born in Hartford on April 14, 1953, and attended East Hartford High School and Howell Cheney Technical School in Manchester. He worked at Pratt & Whitney for 26 years.

He was a music lover, automotive guru, and most of all, a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the early 1970s. He rose to public attention by way of his radio personality, "Rockabilly Willy" on 88.1 FM, WESU. He is survived by his two sons, Michael Holden of Manchester, and William M. Holden Jr. of Enfield; his former wife and close friend, Louise (Havey) Holden of Enfield; his parents, Wilson Holden and Rhoda (Bragg) Holden of Oldsmar, Fla.; his sister, Cindy Chapin of Oldsmar, Fla.; and his grandchildren, Jillian Holden, Giana Holden, and Justin Koch.

A graveside military service will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown.

Memorial contributions may be made to WESU Radio, 45 Broad St., 2nd Floor, Middletown, CT 06457 (www.wesufm.org). The Holmes Funeral Home in Manchester has care of arrangements. To leave a condolence message please visit
