Julia Burnowsky Toczko Baldwin

Julia Burnowsky Toczko Baldwin, 91, of Enfield, passed away on Sept. 11, 2010, at Blair Manor.

Born on Jan. 11, 1919, in Somersville, Julia was the daughter of the late John and Tifilca (Yurgel) Burnowsky. Julia worked at the former Somersville Manufacturing Co. until it closed and then for G. Fox & Co. in Enfield from its opening until her retirement. She enjoyed watching UConn basketball and the Boston Red Sox.

Julia is survived by her two children, Judith Mehl, and her husband, Thomas, of Somers, and Thomas Toczko, and his wife, Patricia, of Richmond, Va.; her grandchildren, Theresa Mehl and Thomas Mehl of Somers, Lesa Mehl of Chicago, Ill.; and James Toczko, and his wife, Michelle, and Kevin Toczko, and his wife, Janeth, all of Ashburn, Va.; her great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jacquline Toczko of Atlanta, Ga., Andrea, Nathan, Andrew, and Noah Toczko, all of Ashburn, Va.; her beloved bird, Chirpie; her friends at Woodside Park in Enfield, especially Rosalee and Marguarette; as well as her bingo friends at Somers Senior Center. Julia was predeceased by her husbands, Louis Toczko in 1972 and Eugene Baldwin in 2000, as well as her brother, Benedict Burnowski, in 1967.

Memorial services for Julia will be held on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at 1 p.m. at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, with the Rev. Francis Kerwan officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home prior to the services from noon to 1 p.m.
