Marc Philip Michaud

Marc Philip Michaud, formerly of Enfield, most recently of South Hadley, Mass., died peacefully at his home on Jan. 10, 2014. Marc was born March 4, 1964, the son of Greta (Thibodeau) Michaud and the late Jean R. Michaud.

He was employed at Westover Air Force Base for 25 years and was assistant fire chief for the past 11 years before he recently retired. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and another 16 years in the Air Force reserves. He lived in Enfield most of his life, where he attended St. Joseph grammar school and graduated from St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield in 1982. He attended Western New England College before joining the service. Marc enjoyed cruising on his motorcycle and vacationing with his sons.

He leaves behind his sons, Vincent and Samuel Michaud of Belchertown, Mass.; his sisters, Jean Bailey and her husband, Scott, and Patricia Ellis and her husband, Bill, all of Somers. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Jessica and Joseph Bailey and Maggie, Jacob and Abigail Ellis; as well as many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield.

A Memorial and Remembrance service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home followed by interment with military honors in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, Mass.
