Barbara Buchalski Obituary

Barbara E. (Burkhart) Buchalski entered into eternal life at the age of 55 on Saturday Oct. 12, 2013, at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was the beloved wife of 31 years to Thomas B. Buchalski.

She was born on May 19, 1958, in Springfield, daughter of the late Laurence A. and Marie T. (Huhn) Burkhart and had resided in Enfield for the past 27 years. She is survived by her loving husband and by her two beloved children, Brian Buchalski and Brianna Buchalski, both of Enfield; a sister, Laurie A. Marvel and husband, David, of Holyoke, Mass.; a brother, Richard F. Burkhart and wife, Sandy, of West Springfield; and a sister, Cheryl M. Holben and husband, Jim, of Springfield; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Barbara's Oncology Team at the D'Amour Cancer Center and for the exceptional care given to her by the nurses and PCT's in the Springfield Oncology Unit at Baystate Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, with a visitation period from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon in St. Patrick Church, Enfield. Burial will take place following the Mass in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery in Enfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Baystate Regional Cancer Program/Baystate Health Foundation, 280 Chestnut St., 6th Floor, Springfield, MA 01199.
