Born in North Haven, Maine, on Oct. 2, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Florence (Brown) Beverage. In her early years, Barbara was employed as a secretary with Pratt & Whitney. It was there she was introduced to the love of her life, and on April 2, 1960, she was united in marriage to Robert C. McGill. After 45 wonderful years of marriage, Robert preceded his bride in death on March 5, 2006. Barbara has been a resident of Enfield since 1964 and she was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. Barbara was an avid reader and in her free time she enjoyed spending time in her garden. Barbara especially enjoyed her family trips to Lake Willoughby and fishing with her late husband. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She leaves behind her son, Robert C. McGill Jr. of Enfield; her daughter, Patricia M. Davis, and her husband, Marc, of West Suffield; her two grandsons, Michael Davis, and his fiancé, Megan Leahan of Enfield, and Christopher Davis currently of Okinawa, Japan, serving as a Navy corpsman; her brother, James C. Beverage, and his wife, Carol, of Stafford Springs; her three sister-in-laws, Jean Beverage of Stafford Springs, Elizabeth Beverage of Tolland, and Elizabeth Herring of Texas; her brother-in-law, Ronald McGill of South Windsor; her two furry children, Fritz and Hilda; and many loving nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. Along with her husband, Robert, and her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her two brothers, Theodore E. Beverage Jr. and John W. Beverage.

A funeral service for Barbara will be held on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 1518 King St., Enfield. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church. Burial will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family at Hazardville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Barbara's name to Masonicare Hospice Care, c/o Masonicare Charity Foundation, P.O. Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492, would be appreciated by the family.
