Barbara Ruggiero Obituary
She was the widow of Salvatore Ruggiero. Barbara was born in New Haven on March 6, 1933, daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Cofrancesco Sauro, and was a bookkeeper for several area lawyers and for the last 15 years was a cashier at Hamden High School prior to her retiring eight years ago. A Hamden resident most of her life, she was a former member of the Hamden I.A. Club and enjoyed her family and trips to the casino. The family would like to thank the staff at Arden House for their loving and devoted care.
She is survived by her devoted children, Mrs. Kevin (Dina) Gennette, Salvatore Ruggiero, both of Hamden and Anthony (Roberta) Ruggiero of Enfield; a sister-in-law, Lee Bosco of West Haven; grandchildren, Anthony (Dorothy), Samantha, Marisa, Salatore (Mena), Jennifer, Kevin, and Stephanie; and four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral will be held Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, and at St. Ann Church at 10 a.m. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.

To Dina and family, sorry to hear of your loss, Barbara was always so nice to us at Hamden High, i remember when she worked the snack line, it didn't matter what i had or how many, always 25 cents, Just a nice, nice woman....not as many around anymore...
