Beverly Jane Stebbins

Beverly Jane Stebbins, 56, of Enfield, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, following a two-year battle with cancer. She passed peacefully with her family by her side at St. Francis Hospital.

She was born in Stafford Springs the daughter of G. Miles and Lauretta "Peg" Stebbins of Enfield. She was predeceased by her father, Miles, and her brother, Niles, of Enfield. Beverly is survived by her mother, Peg; her daughter, Margaret Jean Roelants of Middletown; brother, Todd Stebbins, and his family, Tina, Kyle, and Kassidy Rhodes of Enfield; and brother, Dan Stebbins and Cathy of Middletown. She is also survived by sister-in-laws, Linda Stebbins of Enfield and Bonnielea Stebbins of Willington; as well as nieces and nephews Laurisa Wojcik of Winthrop, Mass., Jason Stebbins of Enfield, Michele Balady of Las Vegas, Nev., Rebecca Stebbins of Las Vegas, Nev., Danielle Quinlan of Farmington, Nathan Stebbins of Stafford, Christopher Stebbins of East Windsor, and Lauren Stebbins of Middletown. She leaves aunts and uncles, Stuart and Patty Perry, Beverly Murray, Sam and Linda Perry, George and Pat Perry, Alyce Gould and many cousins throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts. She also leaves close friends, Betty Slanetz of Enfield, Dede Yasgar of Agwam, Mass., and Cristie D'Alessandro of Farmington.

Beverly was a creative, independent, complex, strong, and generous woman who was adventurous with a keen intellect. She loved children, animals, traveling, and outdoor activities, including swimming, kayaking, and hiking. She had an ability to build things whether it was a house, a sailboat, or a close relationship with friends and family. She was known for her incredible handmade Halloween costumes and the armloads of food and gifts she would arrive with at any gathering. Beverly was dedicated to her career as a business contract manager for Kaman and Capewell. But above all else, Bev was devoted to her daughter, Maggie, who will finish her degree in mathematical economics at Colgate University in the spring.

A celebration of her life will be held at the convenience of the family.
