Dale Clayton Obituary

Dale M. Clayton Sr., 85, of Tolland, beloved husband of Margarethe "Maggie" (Noë) Clayton, passed away Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013.

He was born Jan. 19, 1928, in Swampscott, Mass., the son of the late Eric and Mary (Aldrich) Clayton. He served in the United States Army and was a proud member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Dale received his Ph.D. from Syracuse University and was the former director of instructional technology at Loomis Chaffee School. He enjoyed golfing and bowling.

He is also survived by his children, Hilary Clayton Siegel, and her husband, Scott, of Acton, Mass., Dale Clayton, and his wife, Marsha, of Vernon, Lance Clayton and Janice Niemczyk of Vernon; his sister, Judith Clayton, and her husband, Eli Rascati of Middletown; and his beloved grandchildren, Kyle, Elise, Erica, and Carlie Clayton; and his great-grandson, Parker Clayton. He was predeceased by two siblings.

All services will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hockanum Valley Food Pantry, 29 Naek Road, Vernon, CT 06066.
