Darlene Freeman Obituary

Darlene G. Freeman of Enfield entered into eternal rest at the age of 67, surrounded by her family on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at Johnson Memorial Medical Center, Stafford Springs.

She was the beloved wife of 47 years to Noel F. Freeman. Darlene was born on July 20, 1946, and she was a graduate of Enfield High School and resided in Enfield for the past 67 years. A woman with many interests and talents, Darlene enjoyed crafting, gardening, sewing, also singing and dancing. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Darlene's love, compassion, and joy of life will be sadly missed but will hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew her.

Besides her husband, Noel, she is survived by her children; Gail Freeman and Chris of Somers, Lori Freeman of East Hartford, Eric Freeman and Wendi of Stafford Springs, and Jason Freeman and Elizabeth of Enfield; her cherished grandchildren, Ashley Allard, Zachary Allard, Natalie Freeman and Alexandra Freeman; and two great grandchildren: Riley and Brianna. Darlene is also survived by a sister, Carol Parda of East Windsor. She was predeceased by her parents, a brother, David Yaksta, and a grandson, Nathan Allard.

Her family would especially like to thank Paula and Maria at JMMC's ICU.

Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield.

The Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Hazardville Cemetery in Enfield.

Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation, P.O. Box 96280, Washington, DC 20077-7491.
