Donna Becker-LeBlanc Obituary

Having waged a valiant two-and-a-half year battle against colon cancer, Donna Marie Becker-LeBlanc passed peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013.

She was born the youngest of 10 children to Joseph and Bernice Becker on Oct. 11, 1964. Growing up in Windsor Locks, she attended Union School, St. Gabriel School, and graduated from Our Lady of the Angels Academy in Enfield. She also graduated from Morse School of Business and UConn. Donna worked for The Hartford, leaving after marrying and starting her family. She later re-entered the workforce as the assistant director of the Windsor Locks Senior Center. Donna had a special gift for making and creating new and everlasting friends. By this her love and affection will carry on. Donna moved with her husband, Andrew, and sons, Andrew "Drew" and Caleb, to Suffield a few years ago to live out her dream on a farm raising cows and a horse.

She leaves her husband, Andrew; and sons, Andrew "Drew" and Caleb; her sisters, Charlotte Bulat (Mitchell), Joan Burge (James), Laura Hamilton (Thomas), Renee Jubrey (Gary), and Mara Goulet (Normand); her brothers, Joseph (Terrie-Anne), Jon (Susan), and Karl (Laurie) Becker; father and mother-in-law, Paul and Ann LeBlanc; brothers-in-law, Paul (Kathy), Allyn (Richel); sisters-in-law, Michelle LeBlanc and Pauline (Christopher) Lawless. She leaves her two aunts, Agnes Sheehan and Patricia Becker; and very many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She also leaves her two very special and dear friends, Terry Berube and Josephine Lingua, whose constant bedside vigilance and care was a blessing. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Bernice Becker; and her sister, Marlene Drought.

The greatest joys in her life were her boys, Drew and Caleb, of whom she is very proud. Donna leaves her family and friends with a legacy of great strength, courage, and determination.

Burial and service is private.

For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, a donation in Donna's memory may be made to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111.

I went to Our Lady of the Angels Academy with Donna. Her father Joe and my Dad Bob Foraker used to help out at the school. Donna was always happy and a joy to be around. I ran into her a few years ago at Barnes and Noble with one of her sons and you could tell he was her world. RIP Donna. Kim Foraker Irish Enfield, CT

Dear Becker-LeBlanc family's - so sorry for your loss. You are all in my thoughts & prayers.

An Irish Funeral Prayer

Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Everything remains as it was.
The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no sorrow in your tone.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort
Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was.
There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we meet again.

To Andrew, Drew and Caleb, and the Becker and LeBlanc families,

Dennis, Ian and I are sorry beyond words for the loss of your dearest Donnna.

She and I became fast friends about 10 years ago. We shared many wonderful talks and outings together which always included our sons. Donna always had a beautiful, ready smile to share and that's what drew us together in the beginning. Just know her family was so important to her, and she loves each of you very much. Love never ends. Donna was very proud of Andrew, Drew and Caleb. Her sons were her world. Donna was a very sweet, caring, amazing, loving, strong woman with an incredible sense of humor. I loved her and will never forget her.... God's Blessings to Drew, Caleb, Andrew, my friend and her brother, Karl, and all of you at this very difficult time.

With Much Love,

Helen Moriarty
