I have such fond memories of dear Ed Barry and his buddy Jim Matthews, my dad. This time of year, I think of them preparing the "Sugar Shack" to make maple syrup. An article and pictures of the two of them were given to the East Haddam Historical Society Museum. Rest in peace, friends.

Ed gave so much to his country, his community, and to the civic and veterans organizations he belonged to. I was honored to know him, and will miss him at the school programs and convalescent home visits that he would always support. I salute you Ed, for all you have done.

I was so very sorry to hear of Mr Barry passing away. I only knew him through the joy he gave to my Mother when she was in Chestelm. She caught on, after a while, who "Santa" was, but never let on. After my Mom passed my sister had to go into Chestelm and he brought her many happy moments as well. He was really a wonderful man. My thought and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
Sincerely, Nancy Worthington

To Ed's family and to his friends-
Reggie and I send our deepest condolences at Ed's passing. Ed made a lasting impression to everyone he met and made a difference in the lives of those who were honored to call him friend. Edward Barry loved life and lived every minute of it with vigor and zeal. We will miss him dearly and are consoled by the knowledge that he continues his conversations with old friends, free from suffering. He probably has a favorite pub already.

Dear Joan and Family:
We will always have Ed in our hearts. My memory of him will be that terrific smile and his enthusiasm for life. My Dad - and all of us - will miss him.
