FUNERAL HOME

Elizabeth Ladd Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" A. Ladd, 66, of Enfield was suddenly taken from us on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Hartford Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Born in Hartford on Sept. 20, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Mark and Rebecca (Wood) Ladd. Almost 24 years ago, Betty met the love of her life, Dennis George. She loved her work for the past 10 years at Konica Minolta. A cancer survivor, Betty loved life. Betty enjoyed tag sales, and she was always ready and willing to try new adventures. Betty loved being outdoors in the warm weather, especially at the beach, gardening, or at a lake. Betty also enjoyed decorating her home. She especially loved her two beagles, Brooklyn and Devin.

Betty will be sorely missed by Dennis; her two brothers, Chet Ladd and his wife, Joanne, of Somers and Scott Ladd and his wife, Joanne, of Coventry; her two sisters, Christine Ladd of Windsor Locks and Joanne Garnett of Wyoming; her mother-in-law, Dorothy George of Enfield; her brother-in-law, William George of Enfield; her sister-in-law, Pamela Beach of Simsbury; and her many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews. Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Bruce Ladd and Rick Garnett.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Dec. 22, when Betty's family will receive relatives and friends from 3 to 6 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield.

In lieu of flowers Betty's family respectfully requests that memorial donations in her name be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111; or to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067-3045.
