Elva Gourlie Obituary
Born on June 13, 1921, in Messena, N.Y., she was the loving daughter of the late Charles and Angie (Dyer) Hall, and the beloved wife of the late Allyn Gourlie. Elva was a first lieutenant veteran of the United States Army, serving her country during World War II. She resided in Enfield from 1946 until 1978, where she moved to Florida for 20 years and returned back to Enfield in 1998. She worked for Parkway Pavilion as a registered nurse for several years, and also at Blair Manor (Enfield Nursing Home) as the director of nursing until retirement. Elva was a member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Enfield.
She is survived by her son, Brian Gourlie, and his wife, Melody, of Arizona; and her grandson, Peter Gourlie, and his wife, Michele; two great-grandchildren, Brenna and Aiden.
Visitation hours will be on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield.
Burial will be held in Curlew Hills Memory Gardens, Palm Harbor, Fla. To leave an online condolence please visit our website at
