Geraldine Varnauskas Obituary
She was born in Waterbury, daughter of the late Anthony and Olympia (Scarmozzino) Sciarretta, and was educated in Waterbury schools. Gerry was a retired sales representative for Bob's Stores, and adored her grandchildren, great-grandchild, and her family pets.
She is survived by three children, Deborah Laplante, and her husband, Gaetan, of Enfield, Joseph J. Varnauskas, and his wife, Debbie, of Somers, and James Varnauskas and partner, Richard Hunt, of Atlanta, Ga.; six grandchildren: Nicholas Laplante, and his fiancée, Tammie Carr, Christopher Laplante, and his significant other, Jodie Frizzell, Matthew Laplante, Sarah, Jenna, and Zachary Varnauskas; and one great-grandchild, Maxwell Laplante. Geraldine was predeceased by a son, Richard P. Varnauskas, in 2007, and a brother, Michael Sciarretta on April 1, 2013.
The family would like to give special thanks to Johnson Memorial Hospital, Home and Community Health Services Hospice, Companions and Homemakers, especially her dear friend Linda Buvelot.
A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Martha Church, 214 Brainard Road, Enfield. Interment will be private.
Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home in Holyoke, Mass., is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Our prayer's and thoughts are with the family. Gerry will be missed. She was a wonderful person that always made us laugh. I'm glad we were able to see her recently.
