Pop I've been thinking about you a lot lately. With your birthday coming up it's bringing a lot of hard feelings to deal with. I miss you so much every single day. I had such a good sundae the other night you would have really loved it! Even better than our 99 cent mcdonalds sundae! Something happened the other day and I picked up my phone to call you. For just a few seconds I thought I was only visiting Connecticut and that you were waiting for me back home. The days that are harder than others I try to convince myself that if I just make it to the next day Ill be able to talk to you again. Ill never be able to thank you enough for all that you did. Or explain how much I love you. I know Uconn misses you. He actually played with a toy the other day. Mj came over and he was so playful. I try to give him a lot of treats, just for you! I know it was a crazy year without gummy but I'm glad we made the first year together. Please give her a big hug and kiss for me. I miss you both very much. I love you<3

There are many guys my age that knew Gordie, but it seemed most people called him Red. Well liked and respected, he will be remembered by a horde of baby boomers. My condolences to his family.

I haven't known what to write on here. I have so many things I would like to say yet there are no words. Poppy I am having such a hard time losing you. When gummy passed you and mom pulled me through and helped me as much as y'all could. Mommy is helping me now but nothing we do feels the same without you here with us. I am so beyond blessed to have these past four years with you and gummy. I wouldn't change any second of it for the world. Since I was born you and I have always been very close. You were the man in my life that I looked up too. You have showed me thing and taught me lessons that will help me with the rest of my life. As I go forward I do it knowing you and gummy are watching over me, protecting me and loving me from a distance. Our memories we shared together, I will hold deep in my heart for the rest of my life. I am in relief knowing you are not the pain that I know you were in. I also take comfort knowing that you are will the love of your life once again. I hope in the days to come I make you both proud. I love you more than words will ever be able to express. Missing you.

Sympathy to Gordie and Diane's family. As cousin of the Fritzer's, I recall as clearly Dick, Dave and Gordie coming into my Aunt El's kitchen. The gleeful and somewhat mysterious expressions on their faces always left me wondering what they had been up to. What a personality Gordie had and what a warm loving heart! Our family loved him.
You cannot bring him back, but may your pain be lessened by the knowledge that so many loved him and that he was a #1 human being.

To the Gordon Walter Jennings family: This is the third time over the past week that I have come to sign this guest book and still I can't find the right words to express my sympathy. So let me simply say I grieve deeply with all of you.
Red was my longest time dear friend for 71 years; since we were 5 years old. The stories we could tell!
Go in peace Red and save me a seat at your table. Hug Susie for me.
With love,

Dick, Mel, Joe, Tracy and Kel I'm hurting with you in the loss of dad. He was loving and giving and never had a bad thing to say of anyone. He was a wonderful grandfather to Joe and a loving father-in law. May the happy memories of him ease your sorrow.

Precious family (especially Kelley, Allison and Tracy),
Today I grieve with you; my heart is filled with sorrow. Yet through the tears, I remember the stories I've heard about your dad (I called him Gordie), stories of great adventure, of happiness and success. Gordie's success wasn't found in materialistic things (although he had his toys and accomplishments). His success was found in the worth of relationships with his family and friends. Gordie was a very rich man in that perspective, surrounded by many and much love. No longer will he be in pain or confusion. No longer will he miss his precious bride, Diane, as I believe they are both in the presence of God right now.
While today is hard for those your dad, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend has left behind, join together in his love. Tell his stories over and over. Keep him close to your heart while allowing him to be freed from the chains this world placed on him. As so perfectly stated in 1 Corinthians 15:50-57 (in particular vs. 54-55, 57),
"When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
"But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Know I'm here praying for your peace that passes all understanding during this hard time; peace that will fill your heart with His joy and presence.
With love and respect for your dad,
Theresa of Middletown

Words cannot adequately express the feelings of loss I have in my heart. I loved when Gordie would facetime me to check up on us. I will always cherish the memory of Gordie and Susie standing in for my parents when Joe and I married 20 years ago. It was as if Mom and Dad were right there too. I take some comfort in knowing they are all together again and free of pain. Gordie was a big man with an even bigger heart who touched so many lives. I am truly honored to be in his life. Dick, Mel, Joey, and Tracey I will always hold happy memories of our childhood's together in Rocky Hill and wonderful times at Charlie Brown Campground. Kelley it has also been a privilege to get to know you and love you as I witness your selfless act of love and care for your parents. May you and your children find comfort and peace at this difficult time.
