Hope A. Bushway

Hope A. (Herdiech) Bushway, 84, of Enfield, loving wife of the late John H. Bushway, entered into eternal rest on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital.

Hope was born Dec. 10, 1928, in Greenfield, Mass., the daughter of the late Joseph and Bessie (Chudzik) Herdiech. She was currently working at ShopRite in Enfield as a cashier and previously at Food-Pro LLC in South Windsor and retired from Preston Engravers Inc. in Windsor after nearly 25 years. Hope enjoyed trips to the casino with family and friends, sewing, and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. She was the biggest fan of her sons and loved watching them race at the former Riverside Speedway.

She is survived by four children, Barbara Campagna, and her husband, Joseph, of Keene, N.H., Linda Fort of Stafford Springs, Sandra Grabinski, and her husband, Frank, of Enfield, and John Bushway, and his companion, Lynn Fregeau, of Enfield; her grandchildren, Paul, Chris, and Jessica Smyth, Adam Campagna and Ashley St. Hilaire, Jenifer Thibodeau Barone, Jodi, Jason, and Jamey Thibodeau, and Amie Bushway; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, William Herdiech, and his wife, Joan, of Greenfield, Mass.; and her sister, Marion Golonka of McLean, Va.; two daughters-in-law, Donna Bushway of Enfield and Elizabeth D'Agata of West Suffield and many nieces and nephews. Hope was predeceased by a son, Greg Bushway; and a brother, John Herdiech.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield.

Funeral services and burial for Hope will be held privately.

Memorial donations in memory of Hope may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
