James N. "Jim" Cote

James Cote Obituary

James "Jim" N. Cote, 54, of Windsor Locks passed away on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital after a long illness.

He was born in Hartford on Sept. 30, 1959, to Nelson and Lorette (Cyr) Cote of Enfield. Jim attended local schools, was a 1978 graduate of Enfield High School, and was a printer by trade. Jim spent much of his life enjoying time with family and friends, and he brought much love and laughter to everyone's life he touched. Jim enjoyed fishing and camping with his sons, riding his motorcycle, playing the drums, and listening to music.

Besides his parents, he is survived by two sons, Matthew and Tyler Cote of Monmouth, Maine; his former wife, Doreen Cote of Monmouth, Maine; his three sisters, Debbie Casinghino and her husband, Bob, of Agawam, Mass., Carol Hantzos and her husband, Luis Baez, of Enfield, and Lynne Cote of Enfield. Jim also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family. Jim was preceded in death by his brother, David K. Cote.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Road, Enfield. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent to The Cote Children Educational Fund, c/o First Niagara Bank, 73 Hazard Ave., Enfield, CT 06082.

Jim's family wishes to express their sincere and deep appreciation to the staff of St. Francis Hospital and Masonicare Home, Health, and Hospice for their compassionate care to Jim.
