Jeffrey Wraight Obituary

Jeffrey P. Wraight, 62, of Vernon passed away suddenly from a heart attack on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013.

Born in Hartford, the son of the late Frank and Maureen (Lintner) Wraight, he was a lifelong resident of Vernon. Jeffrey was a graduate of Rockville High School, Class of 1969. He earned his undergraduate degree from St. Anselm College in Manchester, N.H., Class of 1973. He was presently employed by Pharmerica. He was previously assistant president for Crestwood Products before becoming a partner in a commercial plastic bags company. Jeff was known not only for his amazing generosity and extreme thoughtfulness, but also for his witty humor, infectious laugh and predictable corny jokes. A classic lesson in logic involved explaining why fire engines were red. In his rare free time, he loved to be with friends and visit the beach while enjoying a good lobster dinner. Collecting "collectibles" was a passion, giving each precious item a completely detailed history. His most recent pride was submitting pictures and information highlighting his family history for a publication about the history of Willington. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Jeff is survived by his sister, Darby Schwartz and her husband, Marty, of Mansfield Center; his niece, Brigitta; and two nephews, Andreas and Byron, whose deep love for him has always been obvious with each encounter.

A celebration of his life will be held at his sister's house Sunday, Oct. 6, at 2 p.m.

Interment will be private in St. Mary Cemetery.

Memorial donations in his memory may be made either to St. Anselm College, Alumni Association, 100 St. Anselm Drive, Manchester, NH 03102; or Hockanum Valley Community Council, 29 Naek Road, Suite 5a, Vernon, CT 06066.

Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home in Vernon is caring for the arrangements.

Will always remember Jeff from RHS and band. A truly great guy who was a friend to all. We shared an off-the-wall sense of humor, sometimes to the dismay of Sam Goldfarb in band.....but I think we cracked him up too most of the time. Jeff will be missed by all who were fortunate to know him. May he rest in peace.
