John Graney Obituary
Born in Exeter, N.H., on April 13, 1938, son of the late John M. Graney and Helen (Winiarski) Graney, he had lived in South Windsor for the past 43 years. He was employed by the Hartford Insurance Co. in Hartford for 42 years before retiring. He enjoyed traveling the world, and was an avid train enthusiast.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his son and his wife, Jonathan and Amy Graney of Tolland; a sister and her husband, Kathleen and Macon Aubrey Dawkins of North Carolina; and two grandchildren, Nathan and Matthew Graney.
His funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor. Burial with military honors will follow at Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor.
His family will receive friends, Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111; or to Foodshare, 450 Woodland Ave., Bloomfield, CT, 06002.

Dear Mrs. Graney,
I just drove down the old street a few weeks ago when we celebrated our 20th high school reunion. A lot of good memories there.
I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Graney's passing tonight. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.
