Julia J. Kleczkowski, 88, of Windsor Locks, beloved widow of William Kleczkowski, entered into eternal peace Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at her home.
The daughter of the late Romuald and Antonina (Karp) Kuczynski, Julia was born July 3, 1925, in Windsor Locks and was a lifelong resident of the community. She was a graduate of Windsor Locks High School, and the Connecticut Institute of Hairdressing. She owned and operated a beauty studio for many years in town where she made many friends. During her later years in life, Julia enjoyed tending to her yard and visiting with her family on holidays and special occasions.
She is survived by a sister, Josephine Klaus, and her husband, Fred; nephews, Brian and Marvin Klaus all of Windsor Locks; a niece, Candace Foran, and her husband, Tom, of Simsbury; a niece, Melissa Klaus, and her children, Aaron and Alexa Szotka, of Windsor; a niece, Deborah Barberi, and her husband, Jay, of Simsbury; nephew, Gene Barberi, and his wife, Ann, of Suffield, and their children, Sandra and Gene Jr.; a nephew, Fred Barberi of Stanford, and his son, Mathew; two sisters-in-law, Laura of Florida and Theresa of Enfield. Besides her husband, Julia was predeceased by two brothers, Staff Sgt. William Kuczynski and Mathew Kuczynski; and two sisters, Stella Barberi and Helen Kuczynski; and two beloved nieces. She also leaves many other nieces and nephews. Julia, who loved her family, will be remembered for her thoughtful and generous spirit. She will be dearly missed by all.
Family and friends will gather at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks, for a procession to St. Robert Bellarmine Church, for an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Committal will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday at Windsor Locks Funeral Home prior to the procession from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
