Kathy Fumiatti Obituary

Kathy (Knorr) Fumiatti, 56, of Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2013.

She was born on Oct. 17, 1956, in Hartford, daughter of Eugene Knorr of West Hartford and the late Nancy (McClellan) Knorr.

Besides her father Gene, Kathy is survived by her loving children, Heather Fumiatti and Matthew Fumiatti; two sisters, Linda Knorr and Carol Alberti; former husband, Thomas Fumiatti, and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and a brother-in-law.

Kathy graduated from Conard High School, West Hartford, and attended St. Joseph College School of Nursing. She provided day-care services for several years and also worked for many years as a receptionist in doctors' offices. Kathy loved doing crafts, such as making soaps, decorating sweatshirts, and painting. Her favorite time was spent enjoying summer days in the sun at the beach or lake.

Friends and family are invited to attend the memorial service at Elmwood Community Church, 26 Newington Road, West Hartford, on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Kathy's name to Hockanum Valley Community Council Food Pantry, 29 Naek Road, Suite 5A, Vernon, CT 06066.

Heather and Matt,
We remember holidays and backyard picnics when you were small. lots of laughter and fun. Your mother loved you with all of her heart and you both made her very proud. Tom, I always admired how you and kathy handled your lives and relationship and kept your children as the most important ones. She will be missed, but hopefully, all of the good memories will stay in your heart.
