Lucy Fleishman Obituary

Lucy Rose Fleishman, 83, of Windsor, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, peacefully went into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013.

Born and raised in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Belinda (Polci) DiTommaso. She married her partner for life, Milton, and spent 63 years by his side. They made their home in Windsor for 50 years where they raised their children and left a legacy of love. Lucy will be remembered as a strong, spirited woman who was very proud of her Italian heritage. She took great pleasure in sharing her traditions, cooking for family and friends, and making every holiday a special event. Her greatest joy was her family to whom she devoted her life.

She leaves her children, Steve and Sue Fleishman of Farmington, Mark and Joan Fleishman of Enfield, Lauren and Alan Morris of Windsor Locks; grandchildren, Mark Fleishman, Amanda Morris and Jesse Soloshen, Matthew and Caitlin Morris; brother-in-law, John Rombola; and special nieces, nephews, and cousins of the Dube, McGee, Rombola, and Harris families. She also leaves her dear friend, Millie Tolisano. Lucy was predeceased by her husband, Milton; sister, Catherine Rombola; brother, Daniel DiTommaso; and Sorella Justine Calabretta.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at St. Gabriel Church, 379 Broad St., Windsor, followed by burial in Palisado Cemetery, Windsor.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Oct. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor.

Memorial donations may be made in Lucy's name to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067; or the Windsor Volunteer Ambulance, P.O. Box 508, Windsor, CT 06095.

Auntie Lucy
Throughout the years we always called her auntie Lucy! The Fleishman's and Baio's started out in Hartford raising families in the 50's, 60's and 70's our families were so close our moms were like sisters our dads were like brothers. Our moms put coffee pot on the minute you walked in the door and told you to sit down.
Mom, Dad, Milton, and now Lucy, one by one they have physically gone from earth, but they are permanently engraved in our hearts and souls. Love them, miss them, never let go the memories of them. From time to time you feel auntie Lucy smile. You were part of a generation that is dwindling from earth but we will always be proud to have been part of your family. Auntie Lucy we will always miss you and love you as you have loved us.
