Margaret Davis Obituary

Margaret A. (Levensalor) Davis of Enfield entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Johnson Memorial Medical Center, Stafford Springs, with loved ones at her side.

Margaret was the beloved wife of almost 60 years to Joseph N. Davis. She was born on Jan. 26, 1933, in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, daughter of the late Leon and Elza Levensalor. She resided in Enfield for the past 43 years and in Hartford before that. Prior to retiring Margaret did secretarial work for several insurance companies and at Asnuntuck Community College.

She was an active volunteer with the recreation program at Parkway Pavilion Healthcare for 30 years and taught art and Bible study. She also played piano, enjoyed painting, arts and crafts, camping, and the outdoors, along with creating clothing designs.

Besides her husband, Joseph, Margaret is also survived by a daughter, Diane Sokol, and husband, David, of Enfield; and a son, Stephen Davis of Enfield; her adored and loving grandchildren, Melissa Fay and husband, Eric, and Jessica Sokol Sullivan and husband, Kevin; and her great-granddaughter, MacKenzie Fay. She is also survived by her sisters, Verna Thornton of Florida, and Shirley Warren of Maine; and her brother, Lawrence Levensalor of Maine; along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Levensalor.

Margaret's family would especially like to thank the staff at Parkway Pavilion and Johnson Memorial Medical Center, along with Dr. Lewis Levenson and Dr. Lawrence Glaubiger for the exceptional care and support.

Friends may gather with Margaret's family during calling hours on Monday, July 15, 2013, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, followed by the funeral service with the Rev. David B. Williams officiating. Interment will then take place in the Hazardville Cemetery Enfield.

Memorial donations in Margaret's memory may be made to the Parkway Pavilion Resident Council Fund, 1157 Enfield St., Enfield, CT 06082.
