Martha Ann Wellington

It is with great sadness that we announce that our beloved mother Martha Ann (Wald) Wellington, passed away at 11:04 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, with her children by her side, to be in the arms of her husband.

She was born on June 29, 1933, daughter of the late Louie and Alma (Ridley) Wald. She lived in South Windsor for 46 years and was retired from Caldor after 30 years of service. She devoted herself to her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Left behind to mourn her loss are her loving children, Michael Wellington, Lisa Wellington-Nadeau and her husband, James, Mark Wellington and his fiancé, Karen St. Georges, and Kathy Lyman. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Nicole, Dennis, and Jeffrey Baraw, Sarah Wellington, Erica Halvorsen, Jennifer Gonsalves, and Tyler Wellington; and great-granddaughters, Madison Halvorsen, and Kailey Baraw. Mom also leaves behind two very special and caring sisters-in-law, Jyp Wolfe and Margie Wellington of Maine. In addition to her husband Paul and her parents, Martha was predeceased by a grandson, Ricky St. Georges; and all her siblings, Ruth, Edith, Claramae, Patsy, Eleanor, and her only brother, Edward.

Her family would like to thank the Vernon VNA and Hospice, especially Kathleen of Visiting Angels of Tolland, for being companion to caregiver.

Her family will receive friends from 11 to 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor.

Burial in Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor, will be private at the request of her family.
