Michael Abbate Obituary
Michael was born Aug. 30, 1966, in Hartford, the son of the late Michael Sr. and Shirley (Maylott) Abbate. Michael was a beloved brother and uncle and will be greatly missed. He will forever be remembered as a kind and generous soul with a great sense of humor.
Michael is survived by his brother and friend, David S. Abbate, and two sisters, Cheryl Ekenbarger, and her husband, William, and their son, Jacob, and Pamela Abbate all of Enfield; and close family friend Ellen Balbi of East Windsor.
Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a funeral service at 7 p.m. at the Leete Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations in memory of Michael may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook S., I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067-3045.

I send my deepest sympathy to his family. Mike was a great pleasure to know. He was a great friend and will be deeply missed. He was a strong fighter but is finally at rest. RIP Mike we love you forever
