Mitchell Widun Obituary

Mitchell A. "Mitch" Widun, 80, of Enfield, the beloved husband of 59 years to Lucille (Miano) Widun, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013.

Born in Hartford on Dec. 10, 1932, he was the son of the late Mitchell S. and Gladys (Jurglewicz) Widun. He enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams, the Boston Red Sox, the New York Giants, and the men's and women's UConn basketball teams. Mitch also enjoyed fishing. Nothing meant more to Mitch than his family and his faith.

Besides his wife, he also leaves his sons, Mitchell R. Widun and Helen Czumak of Greenville, S.C., Stephen Widun and Brenda Friedrich, Jeffery Widun and Michelle Galbraith, and William Widun, and his wife, Elizabeth, all of Enfield; as well as his eight grandchildren, Stacey, Corey, Todd, and his wife, Leila, Kevin, Jacqueline, Elizabeth, Stephanie, and Jordyn; one great-granddaughter, Leah; and many cousins and extended family, including his godchildren, Lynelle Palencia and Joseph Miano.
