Norman Dion Obituary

Norman J. Dion, 88, of Enfield, husband of the late Cecile (Gingras) Dion, entered into eternal peace Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Johnson Memorial Medical Center.

Born and raised in Berlin, N.H., Norman was a son of the late Frederick and Anna (Morel) Dion. He resided in Connecticut most of his life, living in Enfield for the past 13 years, where he was a member of St. Bernard Church. Following retirement, he and Cecile also lived in Pompano Beach, Fla., for 10 years. A dedicated worker, Norman was formerly employed at Pratt & Whitney, Fuller Brush, and later ABA Tool and Dye in Manchester from which he retired. He was a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus Council 573 in Manchester.

Norman is survived by three sons, Raymond Dion, and his wife, Lynda, of Enfield, Leon Dion, and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Newbury, Vt., Dennis Dion, and his wife, C.C., of Sandwich, Mass.; and his daughter, Anna Hobbs, and her husband, George, of Windsor Locks. He also leaves six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by two brothers and six sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave., Enfield, followed by committal in Silver Lane Cemetery in East Hartford.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Norman's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., Rocky Hill, CT 06067-3045; or the Enfield Adult Day Care Center, 1 Beech Road, Enfield, CT 06082.

On behalf of the Knights of Columbus Campbell Council #573, we are sad to hear of the passing of our brother Norman. May he rest in peace with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
