Philip Donnell Obituary
Born in Steuben, Maine, the son of the late Bernard and Berla (Guptill) Donnell, he grew up in Steuben and Rockport, Maine, and lived in East Hartford and Ellington before moving to Vernon over 22 years ago. Prior to his retirement in 1986, Philip was a machinist at the Emhart Corp. in Windsor for over 15 years. After his retirement, Philip worked at the former WESCO in South Windsor and Shaws in Vernon for several years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a very devoted Boston Red Sox fan.
In addition to his wife, Philip is survived by his sons, Bernard Donnell, and his wife, Tho, of Manchester, and Michael Donnell of St. Augustine, Fla.; four grandchildren, James, Linh, Matthew, and John Donnell; and his best friend and companion, his poodle, Fifi.
His family will receive friends for calling hours on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon, followed by a funeral service at the funeral home beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Valley Falls Cemetery, Vernon, with military honors.
Memorial donations in his memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

I worked with Phillip while he was employed at Wesco Industries in South Windsor. He had a great sense of humor. And an all-around great personality. He will be missed.
