Robert P. Denning

Robert P. Denning, 69, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013.

Born in Houlton, Maine, to the late Paul A. and Beulah (Turney) Denning, he was a graduate of South Windsor High School class of 1963. Robert served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam era. He then began his career at Travelers Insurance Co. in Hartford, retiring after 41 years as operations manager. Bob was a communicant of St. Patrick Church in Monson, Mass., where he has lived for the past 25 years. He was active with the BSA Troop 818 in Enfield. He was cubmaster for 15 years, 7 years as ADC and 13 years as COR. He was also active with the fraternal organization Loyal Order of Moose for over 20 years, for 10 years he was state secretary for the Hy D Davis Moose Chapter.

Robert leaves his wife of 45 years Elizabeth " Bonnie" F. (Weed) Denning; a brother Frank Denning and his wife, Carol, of Union; two nephews Michael P. Denning and his wife, Lynn, Thomas R. Denning and his wife, Kristi; a niece Linda M. Denning Shea and her husband, John; three great-nephews Michael T. Gallichant, John D. Shea, and Paul D. Denning; and three great-nieces, Sarah D. Gallichant, Taryn E. Denning and Payton S. Denning.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, beginning at 10 a.m. from Lombard Funeral Home, 3 Bridge St., Monson, Mass., with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick Church and burial to follow with military honors at Bethany Cemetery, all in Monson.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, Dec. 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
